#GamingBytes: PUBG brings in a new update with exciting features
PUBG or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is one of the most loved 'Battle Royale' games. The game developers are introducing a new update (22), sometime next week. Currently, patch 1.0 of the update is up on the test servers but would move to production servers only once it is stable. This update will bring an interesting new ranking system apart from other exciting changes.
A whole new ranking system based on gameplay
In terms of player matchmaking, PUBG is already way more realistic than other games. They do not randomly throw players into a lobby for a Battle Royale. Instead, they follow a skill-based matchmaking system. With its new ranked system, PUBG is edging past its competition. It will allow players to track their skills and progress over matches.
How will the ranking system work?
The new ranked system will work on a simple yet efficient model. Players will get points after every match. Based on these points they will be sorted into one of the eight ranks in-game. As the season progress, players can gain or lose ranks and points, depending on performance. In all likelihood, players will receive rank based rewards at the end of each season.
PUBG brings a few other welcome changes
Although the ranking system is exciting, PUBG introduces another welcome change. Bombs and healing items now appear in a radial menu. This makes them quickly accessible to players and saves crucial time in-game. The map selection option returns, which allows players to choose the size of the playable map and also specific maps from the matchmaking menu. Interesting times ahead for PUBG gamers!
