PUBG Mobile Club Open: Indian teams denied visa for Finals
In an unfortunate development, three Indian teams (SOUL, TeamIND and Indian Tigers), who had topped the table in the PUBG Mobile Club Open India qualifiers, have not been able to secure German visa for the Finals. They had to be in Berlin to compete at the global stage. The global prelims start from July 20 onwards. Here is more about this development.
Who had qualified from India?
SOUL, TeamIND and Indian Tigers are the three teams who qualified for the finals to be held in Berlin. SOUL emerged as the winners in the Indian leg of Club Open and will directly be participating in the main event which begins from July 26. This team has some time to re-apply for the visa. The other two have the qualifiers from July 20.
TeamIND and Indian Tigers won't be able to travel
The three teams were denied visa on the grounds that India does not have a governing eSports body. The likes of TeamIND and Indian Tigers will be participating in the qualifiers from NODWIN's Delhi office. This would be a big disadvantage for them. Their ping will be considerably higher than the competition. It will be difficult to break even in the qualifiers.
