#GamingBytes: Now play 'PUBG' with 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'!
Lately, Battle Royale titles have been promoting popular media franchises with collaborations and crossovers. Fortnite recently released a John Wick skin and PUBG joined with Resident Evil, creating a new zombie mode. The game is now collaborating with Godzilla: King of the Monsters for an in-game event before the films releases in theaters on May 31. Here's all we know about the crossover.
Kaijū-inspired graffiti can now be found in the game
PUBG Mobile has various locations, especially in the Miramar map, where players can find Kaijū themed paintings (one features Godzilla). One can be found in Spawn Island and others are hidden in locations like Los Leones and Impala. Investigating them gives you Silver Fragments that can be redeemed for items like clothing and BP. Detailed information regarding the event is still unknown.
What is Kaijū?
Kaijū is a Japanese film genre that features giant monsters who attack big cities and engage the military and sometimes other monsters in battle. Notable Kaijū movies include King Kong, Godzilla series, Rodan, Gamera series, Rampage, Ultraman series, and The Meg.
Developers announced the collaboration with a tweet
The tweet by the developers read, "Another collaboration is here! We're thrilled to announce the crossover between PUBG MOBILE and Godzilla: King of the Monsters! Parachute in to find clues of Godzilla's imminent arrival. See Godzilla: King of the Monsters in theaters May 31st! #PUBGMxGodzilla #GodzillaMovie" Maybe we'd get to kill some monsters in PUBG in some days (or even get to become one)!
'PUBG' released a similar event for the Chinese new year
The new collaboration with Godzilla could turn out to be very interesting seeing as how games are getting really great at this. Fortnite recently released an Avengers: Endgame crossover, which was quite interesting and a big hit with players. Last February, PUBG released a China-exclusive new year event in which players had to kill a dragon in order to win!
Season 7 of 'PUBG' is here with new weapons, items
Season 7 recently kicked off with 0.12.5 update and brought some exciting new changes to the game. Besides introducing a new Uzi-like gun named 'Skorpion' (9mm ammo), it changed the Royale Pass with a new ranking system and instant RP mission rewards. It also introduced a 'Ticket system' and a companion/pet mode in addition to making changes in the in-game shop.
