Pakistan batsman Nasir Jamshed banned for 10 years
The career of Pakistan batsman Nasir Jamshed saw an untimely end after he was sentenced to a 10-year ban, for his involvement in spot-fixing in the second season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Jamshed became the 6th player to receive punishment in this scandal. The 28-year-old was earlier described as the linchpin by authorities. Here is more on the same.

Jamshed proved guilty of spot-fixing
The Anti Corruption Tribunal found Jamshed guilty of spot-fixing. Earlier, the player was banned for 12 months after he didn't cooperate with the tribunal. PCB's Legal Adviser, Rizvi stated that Jamshed played a crucial role in the spot-fixing scandal and got others to join the same. The other Pakistani cricketers to receive bans were Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Nawaz.
'It's sad that another player spoiled his career'
This year, Jamshed faced five further charges in relation to fixing, and notably all of them have been proved. Rizvi said that it's a matter of sadness that another player has spoiled his career after failing to stay away from the lure of fixing.
A look at Jamshed's career
Jamshed played 2 Test matches, 48 ODIs and 18 T20Is for Pakistan. His best moment came when he smashed three successive ODI centuries against India in 2012-13. The southpaw scored 1,418 runs in ODIs and averaged 31.51 and smashed 8 fifties as well. Jamshed, who had rejected all the charges against him, will not be allowed to hold any office once his ban ends.
