Di Maria brace takes PSG to French Cup semi-finals
Star striker Neymar Jr might be out injured, but that hasn't stopped PSG from running riot against other teams. The French giants PSG beat sloppy Marseille 3-0 yet again to reach the French Cup semi-finals. A brace from Argentine Angel Di Maria and a sublime strike from Edinson Cavani sealed the victory for the Parisians. Here's our match report.
Di Maria steps up to fill Neymar's void
Angel Di Maria put the defending champions ahead on the stroke of halftime. The Argentina winger scored his second of the night three minutes after resuming the second half. PSG's record goal-scorer Edinson Cavani guided the ball into the net for PSG's third after Draxler's headed the ball into his path, with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Mbappe's injury concern mars victory
Di Maria has been in good form of late and has eased the anxiety of injured Neymar ahead of the much awaited second leg Champions League encounter against Real Madrid. While Di Maria's form is something PSG would look forward to, Mbappe's injury is the latest concern for the French outfit. Mbappe was replaced at halftime and PSG will be hoping it's nothing serious.
Neymar faces lengthy spell on the sidelines
As far as Neymar's injury is concerned, latest reports suggest that the Brazilian is set to undergo a surgery in Brazil, ruling him out of Tuesday's Champions League return leg against Real Madrid. PSG were beaten 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu and will need a spirited performance from their stars if they need to overturn the deficit and stay alive in the competition.
