Ind-Aus 2nd ODI : What could be India's probable XI?
After a win in the 1st ODI against Australia, there could be few changes to the Indian side that played at Chennai. Keeping the Kolkata conditions in mind, India's probable XI could see Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Bumrah, unchanged, with Jadeja coming in for Chahal, and Umesh Yadav replacing Kuldeep Yadav.
Potential rain threat for the 2nd ODI
The 2nd ODI between India and Australia in Kolkata, awaits a potential rain threat with the possibility of yet another rain-hit ODI between the two. The pitch at Eden Gardens has been lying covered for past some days due to pouring rains and the teams couldn't practice on Tuesday. Further, the met department has predicted more rain in coming days.
Grassy pitch, damp conditions
Having been covered for days, the Eden Gardens pitch is likely to remain damp for the Thursday's ODI match. Additionally, the wicket is covered in grass which supposedly will not be removed entirely so as to keep the surface from breaking. With such conditions, Eden, staying true to its reputation, could aid seam bowling more than spin.
Australia's probable XI
Australia have Aston Agar, Peter Handscomb, and Kane Richardson, as options available to bring in for the Kolkata ODI. If the existing pitch conditions prevail at Eden Gardens, they could opt to bring in pacer Richardson for Zampa, rest of the team remaining the same- Warner, Cartwright, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Maxwell, Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Faulkner, Cummins, and Coulter-Nile.
It's only the second Ind-Aus match at Eden Gardens
The second Ind vs Aus ODI is the only second ODI between the two at Eden Gardens. They last played here in 2003 when the visitors won by 37 runs.
