Prithvi Shaw included in Mumbai's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad
Indian Test team opening batsman Prithvi Shaw is finally set to make a comeback to cricket after being on the sidelines due to an injury. The youngster had rolled his ankle in Australia, which forced him to miss the Test series. Shaw has been included in the Mumbai squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which will be led by Ajinkya Rahane. Here's more.
'I am really looking forward to taking the field again'
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is set to begin in Indore from February 21 and Shaw is keen to give a solid account. "I am really looking forward to taking the field again and performing at my best. I have missed playing competitive cricket due to my injury and I'm ready now to give my best for Mumbai and India," said Shaw.
Shaw spent time at the NCA to recover
The 19-year-old Shaw spent a good amount of time undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. On Thursday, the youngster cleared the Yo-Yo test at the NCA. This was enough to convince the Mumbai selectors, led by former India pacer Ajit Agarkar, to include him. Earlier, Shaw had twisted his ankle while attempting a catch in a tour match in November 2018.
