In Argentina, inmates of a prison have gone on a hunger strike to protest against faulty cable network. The inmates, at Puerto Madryn jail, have stated that cable television is an indispensable right for everyone. They are eager to watch Lionel Messi-led Argentina play in 2018 FIFA World Cup. This protest comes days before Argentina play their first game against Iceland on June 17.
What is the key issue for these prisoners?
The cable network hasn't been functioning in the jail for the last three days. Around 9 inmates, of this prison, have decided not to intake any food until the problem is solved. Further, these prisoners have also filed a legal suit. Their 'only' demand is that they want to watch Messi and Argentina on television, which is located in common area of the jail.
