Stopping Mohamed Salah is a problem for most of his opponents. The Egyptian forward has taken the Premier League by storm this season scoring 29 goals in just 31 appearances for Liverpool. But now the Egyptian King's popularity has turned out to be a problem during the country's presidential polls. Over 1 million voters want him as their next President. Here's more about it!

More than one million ballot papers were nullified, as several fans voted for their hero Mo Salah. About 5% of the population voted for him.
Salah's popularity is only increasing
Egyptians hope Salah can weave his magic at World Cup
Salah has scored 37 goals in 42 appearances for his club. He is Egypt's biggest football sensation. The 25-year-old scored a last-minute penalty to secure a place for Egypt in the FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to be played later this year. Fans will be hoping that Mo Salah can weave his magic in Russia too.
Several footballers have entered politics
There are several footballers who later became successful politicians. Former Ballon d'Or winner George Weah is the current President of Liberia. Romario, who is Brazil's third highest goal-scorer, is a member of the Brazilian senate. Salah is only 25 and he is in the prime of his career but one cannot rule out the possibility of him taking up politics sometime later.
