Salah equals RVP, CR7 record as Liverpool defeat Palace
Liverpool secured a victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park as Mohamed Salah's record goal turned out to be the winner in a 2-1 win. The Egyptian King netted in his 21st Premier League match of the campaign. He equalled former Manchester United duo Robin van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo's record of scoring in 21 EPL games in a single season.
Reds put up a splendid show in 2nd half
12 minutes into the game, Liverpool Loris Karius fouled the fleet-footed Wilfried Zaha in the box which saw the referee point to the spot. Milivojevic stepped up to give Palace the lead. But in 49th minute, Liverpool pulled one back. Sadio Mane turned in James Milner's cross to level for Liverpool. The Reds completed the comeback when Salah scored the winning goal.
Red-hot Salah eying further records
Salah netted his 29th goal in 2017/18 EPL. He is currently five ahead of Harry Kane. He could become the first Egyptian to win the Golden Boot. Also he could set a record for scoring goals in most number of matches in a 38-game season.
Shearer, Cole next targets for Salah
After equalling RVP and CR7, Salah will now try to break the records set by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole. In a single season, Shearer had scored in 24 matches and Cole had netted in 26. Both had achieved the feat in a 40 game-season.
