Five players whom Arsenal should target in January
Arsenal might be one of the biggest clubs in all of England. However, they have lost their aura of being defined as a title-winning side. Following the departure of Arsene Wenger, the reins have been taken over by Unai Emery, but they continue to struggle, placed fifth in the EPL this term. Thus, we take a look at players they should sign in January.
A 16-year-old promising Angolan who can hold the mid-field well
16-year-old Eduardo Camavinga has made a tremendous impact, playing for Rennes, as his performance has raised a few eyebrows. Although he is yet to score a goal for the club, his ability to put an all-round display in the mid-field, mostly as a defensive midfielder, has made him a top prospect. Arsenal better have him before it's too late.
The new Brazilian sensation would strengthen Arsenal's forward line-up
He surely fits in the EPL owing to his name. But, jokes aside, Everton is on the rise with each passing game. Having scored 63 goals for Grêmio so far, his performance has been vastly appreciated, as he has also given his services to Brazil. Naturally, his price tag is inflating and Arsenal must hurry before Tottenham Hotspur get their hands on him.
The Crystal Palace wonder-boy could actually fit among the Gunners
The wonder-boy from Crystal Palace had a tough time finding his feet when he had moved to Manchester United. However, he is back to being his best at Palace. Thus, he could try his luck at Arsenal as he has spent a considerable amount of time in London. Although it would be a tug-of-war between the two London clubs, Arsenal have to sign him.
The Frenchman has been Emery's target since World Cup
Samuel Umtiti played a huge role in France's 2018 World Cup-winning campaign and has ever since grabbed Emery's eyeball. However, his last season at Barcelona was marred by injuries. While he has made just an appearance in the La Liga this season, he would be closely monitored. Nonetheless, with Arsenal in desperate need of a center-back, Umtiti perfectly fits the spot.
The Belgian is the answer to Arsenal's defensive woes
Now, this would be one for the ages. Toby Alderweireld is the prime defender for Tottenham, as of now. However, he would be out of contract by January. With reports of an extension nowhere in the sight, this could be Arsenal's chance to solve their defensive woes by signing him up. Furthermore, being a UEFA Champions League finalist, what more could Arsenal ask for?
