IPL 2018: Preity Zinta lashes out at Virender Sehwag
Kings XI Punjab might be enjoying one of their most fruitful seasons in the IPL but according to a report, not all seems well with the Punjab based franchise. The report claims that co-owner Preity Zinta was involved in a verbal spat with team mentor Virender Sehwag after the Kings lost their last encounter to Rajasthan Royals. Here's why!
Zinta unhappy with Sehwag's tactical decisions
Preity Zinta was not impressed after Kings XI failed to chase down the 159 run target set by Rajasthan Royals. Zinta gave Sehwag a piece of her mind for failing to beat their bottom-placed opponents. She went up to Sehwag and questioned him about his tactics, specifically sending Ashwin at number 3 position ahead of seasoned batsmen.
Sehwag's bizarre tactic provokes Zinta
"Against Rajasthan Royals, skipper Ashwin was sent in at number three, ahead of more accomplished batsmen such as Karun Nair and Manoj Tiwari. The move backfired as Ashwin fell for a duck, and Preity launched into Sehwag for the decision," a source was quoted saying.
Sehwag could part ways with Kings XI Punjab
Calm headed Sehwag tried to make this better as Zinta blamed him for tinkering with the playing XI unnecessarily. Zinta believes that Sehwag's decisions have led to the franchise losing 3 out of their last 5 games. This incident could end Sehwag's five-year association with the franchise since he isn't happy with Zinta's interference.
Viru tells owners to keep Preity from talking about cricket
"Viru had told the other owners to rein in Preity. He told the owners that he'll not comment on Preity's acting chops and she should refrain from talking about his cricketing acumen," a source was quoted.
