India were plagued with injuries right from the start of the Test match series and things looked difficult with skipper Virat Kohli, too, suffering a back injury in the 2nd Test. But now things are on the positive side with the 29-year-old stating that he is in line to be fit for the 3rd Test. Here are all the injury updates.
Respite for India as Bumrah fit for third Test
Jasprit Bumrah has been declared fit for the 3rd Test at Nottingham. The star pacer, who had suffered a broken finger against Ireland in June, could now come in for Umesh Yadav in the next Test match, starting August 18. The pacer has been bowling in the nets. Earlier, he was ruled out of the first two games. India will benefit from Bumrah's availability.
Kohli in race against time, Bhuvi hits the gym
Virat Kohli suffered a back injury in the 2nd Test and played with the problem in the 2nd innings at Lord's. He has gone on to claim that he will be completely fit ahead of the next game. Let's hope he does! Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has hit the gym and is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Ashwin, Pandya good to go in third Test
R Ashwin and Hardik Pandya, who had suffered minor blows in the 2nd Test match, have been declared ready to play at Nottingham. The duo have looked impressive so far and that brings some positivity for Team India ahead to the crucial match.
