Banned Aussie duo to feature in Darwin Strike League
Banned Australian cricketers David Warner and Cameron Bancroft are set to feature in the upcoming Darwin Strike League- a limited overs tournament, which will take place in July, 2018. Bancroft and Warner were handed 9 and 12-month ban by Cricket Australia for their involvement in that ball-tampering scandal against South Africa earlier this year. Here is more about this report.
Duo looking forward to feature in club cricket
Despite the ban, the duo alongside Steven Smith are allowed to feature in club cricket. Warner stated that he is looking forward to play in this tournament. The southpaw will be available for only two matches as Bancroft will play the entire tourney. Their presence and experience will be a big boost to the local players participating in the league.
Warner to play Global T20 Canada League
Besides this tournament, Warner will be taking part in the upcoming Global T20 Canada league. The inaugural league will also see Steve Smith playing as a marquee player. This comes as a big news for the Australian fans. Meanwhile, Australian coach Justin Langer had earlier stated that they will be welcomed with open arms if they can justify their selection in the squad.
Runs vital for trio
To make a return to the Australian team, the trio will need to be amongst the runs for the next 12 months. Therefore whatever form of cricket they decide to play, the idea will be to score as many and increase their chances.
