After Asia Cup heroics, Poonam Yadav rises in T20 rankings
In the latest ICC T20I rankings for women, Indian bowler Poonam Yadav has jumped several spots. The bowler is now ranked number three with 611 rating points. She is behind Australian Megan Schutt (669) and New Zealand's Leigh Kasperek (640) in the T20I bowling rankings. She is the only Indian bowler in the top 10. Here is more on the same.
Poonam had an excellent Asia Cup T20
Poonam played a significant part for India in the Asia Cup T20 as they reached the final. The spinner picked up seven wickets at an average of 9.14. The 25-year-old spinner delivered a spell of 4/9 in the final against Bangladesh women. However, her heroics weren't enough for India to win the tournament. She has a total of 50 wickets in 36 T20I matches.
ICC rankings: A look at other Indian women cricketers
Both Anuja Patel and Jhulan Goswami have seen themselves drop down in the T20I rankings. The duo have 509 and 507 rating points respectively. They are ranked 18th and 19th respectively and are the only bowlers apart from Poonam to feature for India in the top 20 T20I rankings. In the batswomen's rankings, Raj and Kaur kept their 6th and 7th spots secured.
Harmanpreet only Indian player to feature in all-round rankings
The Indian skipper Kaur is on 13th spot in the T20I all-rounders rankings. She has 193 rating points and is the only Indian to feature in top 20. She picked five wickets and scored 215 runs in the recently concluded Asia T20 Cup.
