The constant fear that something's always near
Lavender Town is, undoubtedly, the spookiest place to be included in any Pokemon game and the new trailer does it justice. It brings in a new version of the place's beloved spooky music, which had earlier caused some controversy among gamers. The trailer also shows ghost-type Pokemon like Gastly and Gengar spawning and the infamous graveyard of the cursed town, where Pokemon are buried.
The history and controversy surrounding Lavender Town
Lavender Town has always been unsettling in every Pokemon game, especially Pokemon Blue and Red. Gamers could read tragic stories inscribed on gravestones of how Pokemon and their trainers were separated at death. There was also a controversial rumor that Lavender Town's original music had high pitched sounds causing children to have headaches and nosebleeds. Perhaps, this is why the upcoming game changed it.
The chilling allure of horror
While we won't know how the exact gameplay will be in Lavender Town, till Pokemon Let's Go releases, the trailer promises an eerie feeling that is akin to previous depictions of the place. If you're in the mood for horror tonight, considering it is Halloween, play Pokemon Go after dark and experience the original Lavender Town music, which has been re-added to the game.
