#GamingBytes: Pokemon Go gets first wave of generation 4 Pokemon
Pokemon Go has finally gotten the first set of generation 4 Pokemon, with more to be added. Developers Niantic had teased the appearance of these Pokemon from the Sinnoh region through a trailer that spoke of a world filled with fantastic creatures awakening. Notably, this is the first time generation 4 Pokemon from the Sinnoh region are appearing in-game. Read all about it here.
Which generation 4 Pokemon are available at the moment?
At this moment, the generation 4 Pokemon which are available in the game include the starter trio of Chimchar, Turtwig, and Piplup. Besides these, common Pokemon like Bidoof and Starly are also present. More Gen 4 Pokemon are expected to be added in waves later in the game through eggs, raids or in the wild. Go out, catch them all, before new Pokemon arrive!
Current list of generation 4 Pokemon available
As of now, the generation 4 Pokemon include the evolved forms like Grotle, Torterra, Monferno, Infernape, Prinplup, Empoleon, Staravia, Stararaptor, Bibarel. Other inclusions are Kricketot and Kricketune, Buneary and Lopunny. Shinx and Riolu are available in 10 km eggs. The former can also be obtained from tier-1 raids. Chatot is available in the southern hemisphere, Carnivine in south-east US and Pachirisu in Arctic regions.
No bridge between previous generations and generation 4
Despite generation 4 Pokemon coming to Pokemon Go, with the promise of newer Pokemon to be added in the future, Pokemon from previous generations like Magmar, Tangela and Electabuzz who have Gen 4 evolution forms, cannot be evolved in-game yet.
