Pogba thanks Mourinho, tension finally over between them?
There were multiple reports circulating that Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba had fallen out with his club manager Jose Mourinho, and he was planning to ship off the French World Cup winner. However, after United won 3-0 against Young Boys, Pogba has thanked Mourinho for trusting him with the penalty even after he missed one against Burnley. Details follow.
Pogba's comments regarding the match
Pogba said that he had no doubts whatsoever regarding taking the penalty against United's Swiss opponents, Young Boys. "I know I missed that one against Burnley- Joe Hart got me that time, but I won't do the same mistake", commented Pogba. He also thanked his team-mates for their trust in him, and also the manager for allowing him to take the spot-kick.
Mourinho had also praised Pogba, is the ice finally melting?
In his interview with MUTV, the Portuguese manager also praised Pogba for his confidence. Mourinho said that he likes the player because he showed the courage to take the penalty even after he had missed one in an earlier match. Pogba was at his absolute best in United's UCL opening match, scoring twice and providing another assist to win the match 3-0 for United.
Pogba on the team's present form
Pogba sounded confident with the form Manchester United have picked up since losing to Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur. United have won three consecutive away games and Pogba thinks that the team is happy, but wants to get better. "We are changing the team and the players that come in feel like they are already in the team and that's what we need", said Pogba.
Barcelona are still scouting Pogba
Despite all seeming well, Barcelona are still interested in signing Pogba. Reportedly, Barca representatives will be scouting the Manchester United mid-fielder every game this season to be sure if they want to spend more than €100 million to acquire the mid-fielder. The World Cup winner has reportedly become Blaugrana's top transfer target. Will Jose be able to stop the coup?
