The latest controversy surrounding Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho tells us the same old story- all is not well. A video clip, leaked this week, showed these two having a heated argument. Watch: Here's what happened
When things looked bright for these two
Mourinho and Pogba have shared a frosty relationship since last season. However, in the summer, United had rejected an offer from Barcelona for Pogba. This season, in a surprise move, Jose made Pogba the vice-captain. The Frenchman also led the side out a couple of times in the absence of Valencia. All this gave an impression that they have moved past the bad phase.
And it's back to square one
The honeymoon period got over at the end of last week. United drew against Wolves at Old Trafford, which made Pogba say that they need to attack more as change of approach saw them surrender the tie. Jose retaliated by stripping Pogba of vice-captaincy. Interestingly, he told Pogba about his decision in front of team-mates. But it didn't end here.
Instagram the reason behind the latest incident
Interestingly, the latest tussle between them is over an Instagram post. After United's loss against Derby in the Carabao Cup, Pogba was seen in the stands with two of his team-mates. He took to Instagram to post a video of them having a laugh. Jose asked Pogba to clarify about the same in the training session.
Intense scrutiny surrounding the duo
There is intense scrutiny now and there are talks of who would leave United first. It is being predicted that Pogba could join Barca in January, whereas some feel Jose might be sacked before that if United do not improve. Further, media reports claim that there is a division of camps now at Old Trafford. Some players are with Pogba and rest with Jose.
Experts reveal their views on the situation
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has lashed out at Pogba and stated that the mid-fielder isn't as good as he thinks. Former Manchester United player Dimitar Berbatov said these are unnecessary issues that are keeping the focus away from performance. Former Liverpool and Spurs player Danny Murphy feels Jose has done the training ground drama on purpose. Craig Bellamy feels neither are bigger than United.
