Mauricio Pochettino impressed by the new stadium of Spurs
Tottenham Hotspur have long been waiting for the inauguration of their new stadium. It got delayed because certain security measures were not upto the mark. They will not be moving into the new stadium till January 13, but manager Mauricio Pochettino has been to the new stadium and, supremely impressed, he believes the wait will be worth it. Why did Spurs leave White Hart Lane?
Tottenham's original home stadium, White Hart Lane, was in operation from 1899 to 2017. It has now been demolished for the construction of their new stadium. After several renovations, The Lane's capacity had decreased significantly, making the construction of a new stadium inevitable. In this season, Spurs have been playing their home matches at Wembley.
Pochettino says he is jealous of Tottenham players
Pochettino is impressed with the new stadium, estimated to seat at least 62,062 people. He said that he is jealous of the current batch of Tottenham players and wishes he was 20 years younger to be able to play in the new stadium. "I say again to our fans be patient because it is going to be amazing", said the manager.
Arsenal fans complained against Tottenham's advertisement
Reportedly, an Arsenal fan has complained to the Advertising Standards Authority against Tottenham stating their new stadium as the only place in London to watch Champions League this season. The authority has warned Tottenham not to make false promises in their advertisements. Tottenham are third in their group and may not qualify for the knock-outs, and hence be forced to play Europa League instead.
