Oscar Piastri, the 23-year-old McLaren driver, celebrated his first victory of the Formula 1 2025 season at the Chinese Grand Prix.
After the race while celebrating his win, Piastri said he was delighted over the win, "what I feel like I deserved from last week," after a disappointing ninth-place finish at his home race in Australia.
Piastri started from pole position and led the entire 56-lap race in Shanghai.

McLaren secure 1-2 finish
Piastri's win in Shanghai, along with his teammate Lando Norris, gave McLaren a 1-2 finish. Both drivers executed a one-stop strategy perfectly during the race.
Piastri said he was proud of their performance, adding: "I'm just proud of the whole team and the weekend I've been able to pull off."
The victory took him to fourth place in the Drivers's Championship with 34 points.

Piastri reflects on tire performance and strategy
During the race, Piastri was asked about the tire performance and strategy. He reflected on the medium tires, stating: "I think on the medium it was still a bit tricky."
However, he praised the hard tires for their unexpected durability. "The hard was a much better tire than everyone expected," he said.
Despite facing challenges with his brakes toward the end of the race, Norris finished just under 10 seconds behind Piastri.

Piastri thanks Chinese fans for their support
In a light-hearted moment, Piastri acknowledged his Chinese heritage and thanked the fans at Shanghai International Circuit.
"It's not a joke by the way, I do have Chinese heritage somewhere!" he said with a smile.
"Thanks for the support, the crowd's been exceptional this week."
Despite facing stiff competition from Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who finished sixth and third respectively, Piastri's victory further solidified McLaren's strong start to the season.
