Australia's Peter Nevill retires from all forms of cricket
Former Australia wicket-keeper Peter Nevill has retired from all forms of cricket. The 36-year-old announced the same on April 1. He was a part of the Aussie squad that scripted triumphant wins over New Zealand and West Indies in 2015/16. Nevill, who plays for New South Wales in the Marsh Sheffield Shield, suffered a shoulder injury in February. Here are more details.
Why does this story matter?
Nevill was one of the mainstays in NSW's batting line-up since his arrival in 2008/09. He even had a promising start to his Test career, scoring his maiden fifty in Ashes 2015. However, he couldn't build momentum over the course of his career. He eventually lost his place to Matthew Wade. Nevill last appeared in the whites at the Bellerive Oval against SA (2016).

"I always knew that I was close to the end of my career. Nevill also expressed his frustration on missing out on games in Sheffield Shield 2021/22.
