Paul Pogba determined to return stronger after injury nightmare
Manchester United mid-fielder Paul Pogba is determined to return stronger after an injury nightmare which saw him miss most of the 2019-20 season. Pogba suffered a further setback to a foot surgery earlier in the season and didn't play since Boxing Day. However, he is stepping up his recovery at the moment. Here's what the Frenchman had to say.
I'm already training and touching the ball, says Pogba
In an exclusive interview for United's official podcast, Pogba said he is training and thinking about getting back. "I'm already training and touching the ball. I've been frustrated, a long time ago. Now I'm almost there, so I'm just thinking about getting back and training fully with the team and everything."
'It makes me more hungry to come back'
Pogba said the injury has given him extra motivation to do well. "You think bad but I've never had something like this in my career, so I always take it in a good way. It makes me more hungry to come back and do well and, yeah, it just shows me as well how much I love football," he said.
A look at Pogba's contract situation at United
Pogba has long been reported as a target for Real, with compatriot Zinedine Zidane said to be keen on bringing the gifted mid-fielder to the Santiago Bernabeu. Having said that, Pogba's current deal at the Old Trafford club expires next year, though the Premier League outfit do have an option to extend it for a further 12 months.
Pogba wants Man United exit
There is no use keeping a player who has doubts regarding his stay at a club. Pogba wanted to make a move in the summer of 2019, however, things didn't go as planned. According to a report in 90min.com, Pogba is determined to secure a dream move to the Bernabeu. He wants to play under the legendary Zidane. United should'nt keep someone who's unhappy.
United want to keep Pogba at the club
United want to keep Pogba at the club and perhaps tie him to a new deal. However, if that doesn't happen, then the club could part ways with him and cash in. Real would be extremely confident in landing their number one target.
