Parthiv Patel: News

Parthiv Patel is a former Indian cricket player and wicket-keeper batsman. He was also a member of the Indian national cricket team and played domestic cricket for Gujarat. The left-handed batsman has played 25 Test matches and 38 ODIs in his cricket career. He was one of the youngest wicketkeepers to play a Test match. In 2000, he made his first-class debut against Haryana. During the 2016-2017 Ranji Trophy, Patel led the Gujarat side. In the Ranji Trophy final, Patel scored 143 in the second innings. The win made Patel the first-ever captain and Gujarat the first team to have won all three domestic titles. In the 2018-2019 Duleep Trophy, he was appointed as the captain for India Green. Patel played for Chennai Super Kings for three seasons and for the fourth season, he was signed by Kochi Tuskers Kerala. In 2002, Patel made his ODI debut against New Zealand. Before IPL 11, Patel was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore team for Rs. 1.7 crore. Patel bid farewell to all forms of cricket in 2020. Post-retirement, he joined Mumbai Indians as a talent scout.
