2024 Paris Olympics, tennis: Carlos Alcaraz reaches men's singles final
Men's singles tennis second seed Carlos Alcaraz has booked his place in the final of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Spaniard thrashed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada, winning the semi-final duel 6-1, 6-1. Alcaraz has been in superb form winning successive Grand Slams this year - French Open and Wimbledon. He was once again in top gear on Court Phillipe-Chatrier at Roland Garros on Friday.
Alcaraz makes history
Alcaraz has become the youngest player to reach the men's singles gold medal match since tennis returned to the Olympics at Seoul in 1988. He could be in for more history. As per ATP, if Alcaraz clinches gold, he will join countryman Rafael Nadal (2008) as the second man to win Roland Garros, Wimbledon and Olympic singles gold in the same season.
