Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has identified Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja as the two best fielders in the current Indian cricket team. The revelation came during an interview with CricTracker, following a Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024 match. Kaif is currently playing for Gujarat Greats in this tournament. Kaif praises Jadeja and Pant's fielding skills
When asked to name the best fielders in Indian cricket, Kaif chose Jadeja and Pant. He noted that Jadeja's fielding has improved with age, a rarity in sports. "As you grow older, you tend to get slower but Jadeja is a prime example of someone who emphasizes his fitness," he said. He also commended Pant's wicketkeeping skills, stating "I haven't seen him dropping catches."
Kaif commends fielding coach T Dilip's contribution
Kaif also spoke highly of fielding coach T Dilip's impact on the Indian team. He specifically mentioned the crucial catch by Suryakumar Yadav in the last over of the T20 World Cup final that dismissed David Miller. "He [T Dilip] has been doing some great work," Kaif said, emphasizing Dilip's significant role in shaping India's fielding prowess.
Kaif lauds van Wyk's performance in LLC 2024
In the third match of LLC 2024, Morne van Wyk led Gujarat Greats to a comfortable eight-wicket win over Toyam Hyderabad. He scored an unbeaten 115 off just 69 balls, hitting eight fours and nine sixes. Kaif was full of praise for van Wyk's performance, stating "I think the way van Wyk played was amazing to watch." He also highlighted that this feat was achieved after keeping wickets for 20 overs in challenging weather conditions.
