2nd Test, Day 2: Australia post 505/8 against Pakistan
Australia batted for the entire day in the ongoing second Test versus Pakistan in Karachi. Resuming the day at 251/3, the Aussies managed another 254 runs on Sunday to manage a score of 505/8. Usman Khawaja, who scored a fine 127* on Day 1, got out for 160. Alex Carey slammed a sensational 93-run knock. The other batters chipped in.
How did Day 2 pan out?
Night watchman Nathan Lyon showed character to chip in with an important 32 from 68 balls. He added 54 runs alongside Khawaja for the fourth wicket. His 160 is the fourth-highest Test score by an Australian batter in Pakistan after Mark Taylor: 334*, Greg Chappell: 235, and Graham Yallop: 172. The Australian opener now averages a brilliant 83.66 against Pakistan in Test cricket. Khawaja has been on a roll in 2022, hitting a third century in Tests.
Another tiring day for the hosts
It has another day of hard work for the Pakistani bowlers. The players look pretty tired having fielded for 180 overs over the last two days.
