SA vs PAK, 1st T20I: Preview, TV listing, Dream XI
World number one T20I side Pakistan will be facing South Africa tonight in an enthralling encounter. The Asian giants will look to keep up the momentum in the three-match series and boost their status as the best side in the format. After losing both the Tests and ODIs, the Men in Green will seek redemption. Here is all you need to know.
Pakistan have been unstoppable in T20Is
Pakistan have been solid in this format since the last few years. They have won 11 T20I series in a row. The winning run started in 2016 when they beat England 1-0 in an one-off T20I. Since then Pakistan haven't looked back. They have proven their dominance across the globe. And, there is no doubt about them entering the series as the favorites.
South Africa have enjoyed a mixed run of results
South Africa have enjoyed a mixed run of form in T20Is since the start of 2017. They have played eight series and won four out of them. Last year, Sri Lanka and India locked horns with Proteas in South Africa and dictated the show.
SA vs PAK: Players to watch out for
For Pakistan, the likes of Shoaib Malik, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez will be key in their batting. Shadab Khan and young pacer Shaheen Afridi will be wanting to make the ball talk. For the Proteas, Andile Phehlukwayo will lead the attack. Quinton de Kock was in prime form in the ODIs and will be expected to give his side a strong start.
Shadab, Quinton de Kock lead this strong Dream XI team
Quinton de Kock and Zaman will open the innings of this fantasy side. The former dons the wicket-keeping role and is our choice as the vice-captain. Reeza Hendricks, Hafeez, Malik and Faf du Plessis form a strong middle order. Shadab is the lone main spinner and is our pick as the skipper. A four-man pace attack sees Phehlukwayo, Afridi, Hasan Ali and Junior Dala.
