Bangladesh overcame Zimbabwe on Day 4 of the one-off Test match in Dhaka. The Bangladeshis won by an innings margin after amassing 560/6 declared in the first innings. They shared a 222-run stand for the fourth wicket. Zimbabwe folded for 265 in the first innings, despite a ton from Craig Ervine. They also fared poorly in the second innings to lose by an innings.
Mushfiqur is Bangladesh's highest run-scorer
Mushfiqur is now Bangladesh's highest run-scorer in Test cricket (4,413). The senior cricketer went past Tamim Iqbal (4,405). Mushfiqur registered his seventh three-figure mark in the Test format. This was his third career Test double century. He equaled the likes of Steve Smith and Joe Root. It was also his second career double ton against Zimbabwe. This was also his second-highest score in Tests.
Mominul slams ninth career Test ton, Tamim registers this feat
Bangladesh skipper Mominul is now the fifth-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in Tests (2,860). He went past Mahmudullah (2,764). Mominul slammed his ninth career Test hundred. Tamim, who hit 41, went past the mark of 550 fours in Tests (551). He became the first Bangladesh batsman to register this feat. Mominul and Mushfiqur registered the ninth-highest stand for Bangladesh in Tests.
Nayeem Hasan and Taijul Islam shine for the Tigers
Nayeem Hasan claimed nine wickets in this Test match. This was also his best match-haul in Test cricket. He registered his second career five-wicket haul in the format. He raced to 19 wickets in just his fifth Test. Tajiul Islam raced to 113 career Test scalps for Bangladesh. He finished with five wickets in this match.
