Mohammed Shami: 34y 170d
As per Cricket Statistician Kausthub Gudipati, India's Mohammed Shami is now the oldest bowler with a five-wicket haul in the Champions Trophy.
His 5/53 powered India to victory in their 2025 Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh in Dubai.
Shami, at 34 years and 170 days, scalped his sixth five-wicket haul in the format. He also completed 200 ODI wickets in that encounter.
#2
Varun Chakravarthy: 33y 42d
Chakravarthy now occupies the second spot on this elite list. He took a fifer against the Black Caps aged 33 years and 42 days.
Chakravarthy joined Ravindra Jadeja (5/36 vs West Indies, 2013) and Shami as the only Indians with a CT fifer.
Chakravarthy also has the second-best figures on Champions Trophy debut, only behind Australia's Josh Hazlewood (6/52 vs New Zealand, Edgbaston, 2017).
#3
Matt Henry: 33y 78d
While Chakravarthy's exploits powered India to victory, Matt Henry was New Zealand's hero in the first innings.
Like Chakravarthy, Henry became the third New Zealand bowler with a Champions Trophy fifer. He joined Jacob Oram (5/36 vs USA, The Oval, 2004) and Shayne O'Connor (5/46 vs Pakistan, Nairobi, 2000).
Henry (33y 78d) perturbed India with figures worth 5/42.
