The couple has become the third pair of contemporary women cricketers to have tied the knot after South Africa women's cricket team captain Dane van Niekerk married teammate Marizanne Kapp last year; and New Zealand pair of Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu's wedding in March 2017. Same-sex marriage has been legal since April 2013 in New Zealand and December 2017 in Australia.
