This Kashmiri football club has scripted history
Fans of the I-League would be greeted by a new club next season. What makes it more interesting is that this club is from Kashmir. One can say, with pride, that a new chapter has been scripted in Indian football as Real Kashmir FC will now play in the premier football competition in 2018-19. Here is more on the same.

Real Kashmir FC overcome Hindustan FC
Real Kashmir FC won the 2nd division title to qualify for the main edition of the I-League. They beat Delhi based club Hindustan FC 3-2 at Bengaluru's FSV Arena. They finished their qualifying campaign with seven points from three matches. AIFF President Praful Patel and General Secretary Kushal Das congratulated the team for achieving this stellar feat.

Both the teams were on four points ahead of the game with Real Kashmir FC needing just a point to qualify for the top division. At half-time Real Kashmir were ahead 2-1 after goals from Tariq Mir and Danish Farooq. In the second half Nadong Bhutia scored the third goal. Kushant Chauhan scored both the goals for Hindustan FC, but it wasn't enough.
A new wave in I-League to continue?
Newcomers in the league, Aizawl FC won the title in 2016-17. It was followed by Minerva winning the 2017-18 edition. Now, Real Kashmir FC have gained promotion. A title win for Kashmir would create a new wave in I-League.
