Manchester United sign Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui for €20m
Manchester United have completed the signing of right-back Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. Moroccan defender Mazraoui played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax. He joins the club for initial fee of £12.9m, with a further £4.3m in potential add-ons Mazraoui was waiting to join Manchester United which was only possible after the club sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United for £15m.
Why does this story matter?
Man United wanted to cash in on Wan-Bissaka, who played for five seasons after joining from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019. Wan-Bissaka cost Man United £45m plus £5m in add-ons. He wasn't in ten Hag's plans as the Dutchman switched his focus to a more attack-minded right-back in Mazraoui. Mazraoui will provide competition to Diogo Dalot. United have completed a smart move.
