No plans of delaying IPL due to coronavirus: BCCI source

A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source stated that the upcoming IPL edition will not be impacted by the coronavirus outburst.
According to him, all the necessary precautions are being taken by the board to conduct the tournament as planned.
He further reiterated that while the BCCI is monitoring the situation closely, there is no plan of postponing the tournament yet.

BCCI officials to meet health ministry due to growing concerns
With IPL set to kick off by the end of March, the health ministry has already conveyed the probable concerns to the sports ministry.
Reportedly, a meeting will likely to take place between BCCI officials and the health ministry next week.
Three review meetings are also expected to be held.
However, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Friday confirmed that the IPL is on.

"We are monitoring the situation and will take all the precautions. We will not leave any stone unturned. Everything is in our mind. It is still time for IPL. Do not panic. As of now, no decision has been taken," the BCCI source said.
Precautions
Spectators to be screened before the match
The BCCI source opened up about how the board is planning to take extra measures during the tournament.
The organizers will deploy medical teams at the venues and all the spectators will be screened ahead of the match.
"BCCI will put the additional medical team at the stadiums. Also, the spectators will be screened at the stadiums," the source said.
IPL 2020
The upcoming IPL season will commence on March 29
The 13the edition of Indian Premier League will be kick off on March 29 with Chennai Super Kings taking on the defending champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
The cash-rich league which is set to span for a duration of 57 days will feature only six afternoon games this time around.
The final will be played on May 24.
