Kapil Dev praises Dhoni, says no cricketer served like him
Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is undoubtedly one of the GOATs. He remains the only skipper to win the World T20, 50-over World Cup and Champions Trophy. In the same light, India's first World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev thinks no Indian cricketer has served like Dhoni. The 2019 World Cup is likely to be Dhoni's last, and Dev wants him to lift another title.

Even though Dhoni has been selected for the upcoming World Cup, a faction had apprehensions regarding his inclusion, following his lean patch in 2018. However, Dev said we must all respect him for things he has done. "I don't have to say anything about Dhoni. I think he has served the country very well and we must respect him," Dev said to IANS.

Speaking further the Indian legend said, "No one knows how long he (Dhoni) wants to play and how long his body can continue to take the workload. We should respect him and wish him good luck. I hope that he wins this World Cup too."
Dev believes it won't be easy at World Cup
Dev also said that he was quite pleased with the World Cup team. However, he warned that it won't be an easy ride for the Men in Blue, as they need to play as a team. He also wished that the players remain injury-free, besides believing that the side can definitely win if they have some luck in their favor.
Dev defends selectors for picking Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant
As the debate continued on Rishabh Pant being overlooked for the World Cup, Dev defended the selectors. He concluded by saying, "The selectors have done their job. Let's respect the team. They have picked Karthik over Pant, then it is alright. We should just believe that the selectors have done a good job." Notably, Pant is on standby list for the 2019 World Cup.
Dhoni eyes IPL success prior to World Cup title
As far as Dhoni is concerned, he is currently leading Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing IPL, as he aims to win his fourth title. Following the conclusion of the IPL, he would immediately switch his focus to the World Cup. As mentioned before, this might very well be Dhoni's last World Cup appearance, and he would leave no stone unturned to taste success.
