NFL franchise Oakland Raiders set to move to Las Vegas
National Football League (NFL) franchise Oakland Raiders are all set to relocate to Las Vegas after the relocation was approved by NFL's club owners. 31 of the 32 club owners voted in favor of the move, making Oakland Raiders the first NFL team to play in Las Vegas. Their new $1.9 billion stadium in Vegas is expected to be ready by 2020.

Oakland Raiders is a professional American football team based in Oakland. Founded in the year 1960, the franchise is a part of the United States' National Football League (NFL). The Raiders have won the American Football League championship in the year 1967 and were the NFL winners in 1976, 1980 and 1983. Jack Del Rio is the head coach of the team.
Raiders' relocation to Los Angeles
After a fallout with Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in 1980, the Raiders moved to Los Angeles in the 1982 season to play their games at the Los Angeles Coliseum. However, they moved back to Oakland in 1995.
Raiders' owners planning to move to Las Vegas?
In October 2016, Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis told the fellow owners that he was planning to move the team from Oakland to Las Vegas. The decision came as there was no progress with the Oakland officials in building a new stadium for the Raiders. If relocated, the Raiders will play at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas from 2020.

After the move was approved, owner of Oakland Raiders Mark Davis said, "The Raiders were born in Oakland, and Oakland will always be part of our DNA." Urging fans not to bring out their anger, he said, "We know some fans will be disappointed and even angry, but we hope they do not direct that frustration to the players, coaches and staff."
