Injured Neymar named in Brazil's 23-man squad
Brazil have named talisman Neymar in their 23-man 2018 FIFA World Cup squad. The player has been recovering from a broken foot. He underwent surgery on his fractured metatarsal in March 2018. The Paris Saint-Germain versatile forward will be hoping to recover in time with the mega event starting from June 14 onwards. He was expected to be out for at least three months.
Neymar crucial for Brazil's chances
Heavyweights Brazil are filled with many superstars in their squad, but they need Neymar to boost their hopes of securing a sixth World Cup trophy. With France, Spain and holders Germany too in contention, the South American giants need moments of magic and it's Neymar who can provide that. He has 53 goals in 83 appearances for Brazil which shows his enormous calibre.

In the 2014 World Cup, Neymar was phenomenal for Brazil as they reached the semi-finals. He scored four goals for the team in the coveted event and was their highest scorer. So once again he will be looking to have a say.
Six Premier League players in Brazil squad
A total of six Premier League players are in the 23-man squad. Four Manchester City players have made the cut and that is a big factor given their achievements under Pep Guardiola. The quartet of Danilo, Ederson, Fernandinho and striker Gabriel Jesus made the list. The four stars were joined by Willian (Chelsea) and Roberto Firmino (Liverpool). Both players enjoyed solid form this season.

Brazil open their campaign on June 17 against Switzerland. They then face Costa Rica on June 22, before facing a tricky test against Serbia on June 27. They are in Group E.
