Football: Neymar to return in 2 to 3 weeks?
Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that the world's most expensive footballer Neymar Jr. is close to returning to football. He is recuperating from a foot surgery in Brazil. PSG coach Unai Emery said Neymar will be back in "in two to three weeks". Neymar might not play a part in PSG's season but this comes as a boost to Brazil ahead of the World Cup.
Neymar's return gives Brazil much needed boost
Neymar fractured his foot on February 25 against Marseille. He was then asked to undergo a surgery which ruled him out of PSG's second-leg encounter against Real Madrid in the Champions league. The defeat eliminated the French outfit from the tournament. Post his surgery, doctors said he would be out for 3 months. His return will be a shot in the arm for Brazil.
Brazil's knight in shining armor
The FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on June 14 in Russia and Neymar is instrumental for Brazil. Brazil are eying a record 6th FIFA World Cup. In the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which was hosted by Brazil, Neymar suffered a back injury ahead of the semi-final against Germany. The yellow brigade had lost the encounter by a 7-1 margin.
PSG will not rush Neymar into action
PSG and Brazil will both assess Neymar's fitness in mid-April again. Neymar is unlikely to be fit for PSG's Coupe de France semi-final against Caen on April 18. PSG are unlikely to rush him back into action anytime soon. But in case, PSG qualify for the final of the tournament, May 8 could be a realistic return date for the striker.
