NZ cricket team reaches India for one-off Test against Afghanistan
The New Zealand cricket team has landed in India, marking the beginning of their tour. They are set to face Afghanistan in a one-off Test match, scheduled for September 9 at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground. This will be the first time these two nations compete in a red-ball fixture. The Kiwi squad is led by experienced fast bowler Tim Southee, with Tom Latham serving as his deputy.
Williamson, Conway to feature in NZ squad
The New Zealand team includes prominent players such as former captain Kane Williamson and Devon Conway. Both have made significant contributions to the team's success. Williamson had earlier this year chosen not to renew his central contract with New Zealand Cricket. The squad also features Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra, further strengthening the team's batting lineup for the upcoming Test against Afghanistan.

The Kiwi squad has included five spinniers for the Test match against Afghanistan. These include Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Ajaz Patel, and part-timers Phillips and Ravindra. The team is take part in its first practice session on Friday.

The one-off Test against Afghanistan is seen as a warm-up for New Zealand's upcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka. This series is part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). Following their tour of Sri Lanka, the Kiwi team will return to India for a three-match Test series against Rohit Sharma-led side. These matches, also included in the WTC calendar, will be held in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai in October and November.
