Colin Munro smashed 72 off just 40 deliveries with the other Kiwi batsmen chipping in with brisk knocks. In reply, India kept up with the asking rate, till 15th over, but ultimately lost the plot. How did the match pan out?
New Zealand openers gave the side a dream start as they stitched a partnership of 80-runs for the first wicket. Munro kept the scoring rate high and was dismissed in the 14th over. Colin de Grandhomme (30), Daryl Mitchell (19*) and Ross Taylor (14*) helped the Kiwis to get to 212. India needed 16 in the final over, but Tim Southee held his nerves.

New Zealand posted a total of 212/4 on Sunday, their second highest score against India in T20Is. Their highest score against India is 219/6, which they had scripted in the first T20I of this series. This is also the highest T20I score at Seddon Park, Hamilton. Colin Munro now has the fourth-highest T20I sixes to his name (92). He went past Brendon McCullum (91).
Munro smashes his ninth career T20I fifty
New Zealand's opening batsmen put up a partnership of 80 runs today against India. The side's opening partnerships at Seddon Park in T20Is read, 130, 79*, 0, 103, 37, 75, 171*, 78 and 80 (today). Munro smashed his ninth career T20I fifty. The southpaw struck five fours and five sixes in his 40-ball knock. Apart from him, Tim Seifert scored a 25-ball 43-run knock.
Pandya brothers script unwanted records with the ball
Hardik Pandya went on to concede the most number of runs by an Indian bowler in a bilateral T20I series. In this series, the all-rounder conceded 51, 36 and 44 to take his tally to 131 runs. His brother Krunal Pandya (119) is second on the list. Krunal delivered the joint-fourth worst performance for India in a T20I as he conceded 54 runs today.
MS Dhoni first Indian to play 300th T20 game
MS Dhoni became the first Indian to play 300 T20 matches (international and domestic). Rohit Sharma (298), Suresh Raina (296) and Dinesh Karthik (260) follow suit. Dhoni also notched his 34th career T20I stumping in his 96th match.
