The 49-year-old Warne has replaced fellow Australian Rod Marsh, in the committee. Marsh stepped down after being a vital part of the committee since 2012. "It is an honor to have been asked to be a member of the MCC World Cricket committee," Warne said in his statement. Warne will hope to bring forward necessary inputs regarding the game.

Officials generally meet twice a year to discuss the issues surrounding the game. In August 2018, the MCC backed tougher sanctions for ball-tampering after the ICC proposed the same.
