Nepal expresses gratitude to BCCI for facilitating training camp
The Nepal cricket board has publicly expressed its appreciation to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), for organizing a training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The camp helped Nepal preparae for the impending ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series, set to be held in in September this year. The acknowledgment was conveyed through social media by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
CAN acknowledges key Indian officials' role in facilitating camp
The CAN specifically acknowledged the support from BCCI Secretary Jay Shah in their social media post. The association also marked the contributions of key Indian officials, including External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishankar, for making the camp possible. The NCA camp offered Nepal's national team an invaluable opportunity to hone their skills before the crucial matches.
NCA camp featured interactions with Indian cricket figures
The training program at the NCA also included interactions with prominent Indian cricket figures, including former India head coach and batter Rahul Dravid as well as speedster Mohammed Shami. It is worth noting that the Nepal cricket contingent has visited India for the second time for this camp. The previous visit for the ICC T20 World Cup preparations.
NCA camp aimed to bolster Nepal's readiness for ICC
Having received this advanced training, Nepal are will now lock horns with Oman and Canada in their forthcoming series. Nepal have been one of the fastest growing cricket sides in T20I cricket. Their aspirations were revealed in the 2024 T20 World Cup, when they nearly upset Bangladesh and South Africa. Nepal missed these wins by a wisker, but their ambition and zeal grabbed the eyeballs.
