
Sunil Narine becomes 3rd KKR batter with 100 IPL sixes
What's the story
Sunil Narine, the veteran West Indies all-rounder, has written his name in the history books of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he has become only the third player to smash a century of sixes for the franchise.
He achieved the feat during KKR's season opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens on March 22.
Narine slammed three maximums in his knock of 44 from 26 balls. Here's more.

Narine's stellar performance in IPL 2025 opener
Narine, who opened the innings for KKR, was slow off the blocks, but opened up with Ajinkya Rahane playing brilliantly from the other end.
He added a century-plus stand alongside Rahane for the 2nd wicket and was dismissed in the final ball of the 10th over.
Rasikh Salam dismissed Narine.
His innings comprised of five fours and three sixes, with the third six marking his milestone of hitting a century of sixes for KKR. He struck at 169.23.

As per ESPNcricinfo, Narine now owns 100 IPL sixes. He has joined Nitish Rana (107) and veteran Andre Russell (206) in terms of most sixes for the Knights.

Rahane's leadership and partnership with Narine
Rahane and Narine stitched a crucial partnership for KKR.
They added 103 runs for the second wicket after losing Quinton de Kock early on (4/1).
The hosts struggled in the 1st three overs to be 9/1. Rahane opened his arms and got KKR moving. They finished on 60/1 in the powerplay overs.
Narine then got going after a slow start and played a wide range of shots.
However, both batters perished in quick succession to leave KKR at 109/3.
