Rafael Nadal ties the knot with childhood sweetheart Xisca Perello
Tennis legend Rafael Nadal married his partner of 14 years, Xisca Perello, at a castle in Mallorca, Spain. The 19-time Grand Slam champion tied the knot with 31-year-old Perello at La Fortaleza. Reportedly, there were 350 guests invited to a private ceremony. Nadal met his wife through his younger sister Maribel, a childhood friend of Perello. Here's more on the same.
Former Spain king Juan Carlos I attends Nadal's marriage
Interestingly, Juan Carlos I, the king of Spain from 1975 to 2014, was believed to be among those in attendance. Meanwhile, the Michelin-star chef, Quique Dacosta, was reportedly in charge of catering. According to the Daily Mail, Xisca is believed to have worn a stunning long-sleeved gown designed by internationally acclaimed bridal wear designer Rosa Clara.

The hugely popular wedding venue saw Real Madrid footballer Gareth Bale tying the knot here earlier. Priest Tomeu Catala got the two married. "Everyone of the weddings I have been involved in has been special and this one will be the same. I am just going to marry two people who love each other," he had said earlier to Diario de Mallorca.
Feliciano Lopez, Juan Monaco attend Nadal's wedding
Fellow Spain tennis star Feliciano Lopez, who put on a dapper display, was joined by his stunning other half, Sandra Gago. Former Argentinian tennis player Juan Monaco and his girlfriend Diana Arnopoulos also attended the wedding. Veteran David Ferrer was also spotted.
Nadal won two Grand Slams in 2019
Nadal won the French and US Open titles in 2019 to increase his Grand Slam tally to 19. He needs one more to equal Roger Federer (20). Nadal had lost in the 2019 Australian Open summit clash to mark three Slam finale appearances this year. His first tournament win this year came in Rome. He also successfully defended the Rogers Cup.
Nadal will be eyeing the ATP World Tour Finals
Nadal missed the recently-concluded Shanghai Masters and will be aiming to be fit for the ATP World Tour Finals in London. One hopes to see Nadal seal the coveted title. He has a 48-6 record this year and is ranked second in WTA Rankings.
