
MLC 2025: Munaf Patel joins Seattle Orcas as bowling coach
What's the story
Former Indian pacer and 2011 World Cup champion, Munaf Patel, has been appointed as the new bowling coach for Major League Cricket (MLC) team, Seattle Orcas.
The same was announced through the team's social media platforms. The former pacer will also work with Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2025.
Interestingly, both Seattle Orcas and Delhi Capitals share partial ownership with the GMR group.

Patel is set to join Matthew Mott (head coach) and Venugopal Rao (general manager of cricket operations) at Seattle Orcas.
All three have previous associations with both IPL and MLC teams.
Former England batter batter Ian Bell has also been appointed as the batting coach for the Orcas.
The franchise is co-owned by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella along with GMR Group, hinting at a similar setup as Delhi Capitals.

Patel's experience and impact on Seattle Orcas
Patel's vast experience in IPL and international cricket will be a huge asset for the Seattle Orcas.
He made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals, before moving to Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions.
The former pacer played 63 matches for the three teams, accounting for 74 wickets with an economy of 7.51.
Internationally, Patel shone in ODIs where he took 86 wickets from 70 games at an impressive economy of just under five runs per over.
