Born on July 12, 1983, Munaf Patel is a former Indian right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for the Indian cricket team and in the Indian Premier League. He represented West Zone, Gujarat, Mumbai cricket team, and Maharashtra cricket team in domestic cricket. He made his international Test debut in 2006 against England. Between 2006 and 2011, he played 13 Test matches and maintained a bowling average of 38.54. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut and T20 International (T20I) debut in 2011. Patel has played 86 international matches throughout his career and has maintained a bowling average of 32.30. He made his IPL debut in 2008 with Rajasthan Royals and played for the team for 2009 and 2010 editions of the IPL as well. In 2011, he was bought by Mumbai Indians, and the team retained him till the 2013 edition of the IPL. In 2017 he was bought by Gujarat Lions. He has played 63 matches in the IPL and has maintained a bowling average of 22.95. Patel announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in 2018. However, he participated in the Lanka Premier League in December 2020.
