IPL 2019: MI beat RCB, here are the records broken
Mumbai Indians clinched a last-ball thriller against Royal Challengers Bangalore in match number seven of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 season. With this win, MI opened their tally this season. Meanwhile, RCB lost their second successive match this season. Batting first, MI posted a challenging 187/8. In reply, RCB batted well but Bumrah and Malinga sealed the deal. Here are the records broken.
Rohit goes past 4,500 runs in IPL
Rohit Sharma scored a sublime 48 against RCB. He hit eight fours and a six. Rohit now has 389 fours and needs 11 more to reach the 400-mark. With that he will be only the seventh batsman to reach the milestone. Rohit surpassed 4,500-run mark in IPL (4,555). He also registered his 185th six in the IPL and is one behind Suresh Raina (186).
Chahal breaks into top 20 in terms of IPL wickets
Yuzvendra Chahal (4/38) excelled for RCB. He was on the money and now has 87 IPL wickets. Chahal went past Sandeep Sharma (83) and Albie Morkel (86) in terms of overall wickets in the tournament. Chahal also has the third best bowling figures in matches between RCB and MI. He also is the Orange Cap holder at the moment in IPL 2019 (5 wickets).
Chahal gets to 50 T20 wickets at the Chinnaswamy
Chahal also became the first bowler to take 50 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru in T20 cricket. He also became the third Indian bowler with 50-plus wickets at a venue in T20 cricket after Amit Mishra (Kotla) and Harbhajan Singh (Wankhede).
ABD 10th player to score 4,000-plus runs in IPL
AB de Villiers went past 4,000 runs in IPL history. He became the 10th overall batsman to achieve this feat and also only the third foreigner after David Warner (4,099) and Chris Gayle (4,093). The Proteas legend also went past Raina in terms of career IPL sixes. AB also registered his 29th career IPL fifty.
Kohli surpasses 5,000-run mark in IPL
Kohli became the second batsman in IPL history to notch 5,000 runs in the IPL. He joined Suresh Raina (5,034) to script this incredible milestone. He achieved the feat in his 157th inning.

How did the match pan out?
Mumbai started off well and had the momentum with them. Suryakumar's dismissal in the 16th over changed things. MI lost their way, but Hardik Pandya repaired things with a 14-ball 32. In reply, RCB lost Moeen Ali (13) early on. Virat Kohli (46) added two crucial stands. ABD kept RCB in the hunt, but Jasprit Bumrah (3/20) was solid at the death.
