Duleep Trophy: India B's Mukesh Kumar, Rahul Chahar claim four-fers
India B bowlers Mukesh Kumar and Rahul Chahar claimed respective four-fers against India C in round 2 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 at Rural Development Trust Stadium B, Anantapur. India C managed a mammoth total of 525 in their 1st innings, riding on Ishan Kishan's 111, Baba Indrajith's 78 and Manav Suthar's 82. For India B, pacer Mukesh and spinner Chahar shone. Here's more.
Mukesh lets his performance talk after Bangladesh Test snub
Mukesh, who was snubbed for the 1st Bangladesh Test match, starting September 19, made his presence felt with figures worth 4/126 from 32 overs. He bowled four maidens. He started off by dismissing Sai Sudharsan (43) before breaking a tall partnership between Kishan and Indrajith by getting the former's scalp. He dismissed Abishek Porel next. On Day 2, he dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad (58).
175 FC wickets and 10th four-wicket haul for Mukesh
Mukesh picked 5 wickets in the match against India D in round 1 of the 2024 Duleep Trophy. He has now taken another four-fer to race to 9 scalps. As per ESPNcricinfo, Mukesh now owns 175 wickets in First-Class cricket. He claimed his 10th four-fer.
Chahar takes his 6th four-wicket haul
Chahar was instrumental, picking 4/73 from 16.1 overs. He dismissed the well set Indrajith for 78. Thereafter, he he wrapped up India C's innings on Day 2 by getting Anshul Kamboj and Vijaykumar Vyshak. The dangerous Suthar was Chahar's final victim. Playing his 72nd FC match, Chahar now owns 79 wickets. This was his 6th four-wicket haul He missed the round 1 match.
