What's the story

Former India skipper Dhoni has added another feather to his illustrious cap. The senior player became the 18th cricketer to reach 6,000+ runs in T20 cricket. Interestingly, he also became only the fifth Indian to achieve this feat . The legendary batsman scored 17 runs for Chennai Super Kings against Daredevils on Friday to reach to 6,007 runs. Dhoni in a zone of his own

Dhoni has been a revelation in 2018 IPL. Dhoni has scored 430 runs in 13 matches this season and that has led him to a total of 3,991 IPL runs. He needs nine more to reach the 4,000-run mark. The player also has 1,444 runs for India in T20Is. Runs for Jharkhand and those in Champions League T20 have also contributed to this landmark.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the second highest T20 run-getter for India with 7,621 runs. Kohli is also the record-scorer in the IPL and has a total of 4,944 runs. He needs 56 runs to complete to reach 5,000. Kohli is a master of the numbers and his 1,983 run-tally for India in T20Is itself tells a story. He has 4 centuries in T20s.

The other two Indians in the 6,000+ runs list are Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir. Sharma has 7,303 runs in total that includes 1,852 for India in T20Is. Gambhir meanwhile, has 6,402 runs in total.
