Which player has won most matches in IPL?
Chennai Super Kings bounced back with a win in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season after thrashing Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The Super Kings successfully defended 212 by bowling SRH out for 134. This marked the 150th match-win for the dashing Mahendra Singh Dhoni in India's premier T20 league. Here are the players to have won most IPL games.
MS Dhoni: 150 matches
Dhoni, at Chepauk, became the first-ever player to win 150 or more matches in the IPL. Thala Dhoni has starred in several memorable IPL games for CSK since the inaugural edition (2008). He led the Super Kings to five IPL titles. Besides, CSK were the runners-up five times. Overall, Dhoni has won 135 and 15 matches for CSK and Rising Pune Supergiants, respectively.
Ravindra Jadeja: 133 matches
Dhoni's compatriot Ravindra Jadeja follows Dhoni on this list with 133 IPL match-wins. Like Dhoni, the star all-rounder has been pivotal to CSK's success. Jadeja, who won the inaugural IPL title (2008) with Rajasthan Royals, secured the silverware three times with CSK. Having also played for Gujarat Lions and Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Jadeja owns 1,183 runs and 112 wickets in winning cause.
Rohit Sharma: 133 matches
As of now, former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma shares the second spot with Jadeja. The former has also won 133 matches in the IPL. Rohit won the 2009 IPL title with Deccan Chargers and later led MI to glory five times (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020). Rohit averages 38.03 with the bat in IPL matches won, having scored 3,918 runs (one century).
Dinesh Karthik: 125 matches
After playing for a host of franchises, Dinesh Karthik has emerged as a potent T20 finisher in his career's fag end. Karthik recently became just the third player after Dhoni and Rohit Sharma to complete 250 IPL appearances. He has won a total of 125 IPL matches so far. Karthik, who currently plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, owns 2,219 IPL runs in winning cause.
